The event that opened the series. On 24 June 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, the projects of the INTERREG MAC programme involving Ghana were officially presented, under the ATLANTE governance strand.
20 out of 34 projects
Ghana joined the enlarged MAC programme, endorsed by the European Commission in September 2022. Of the 34 projects approved in the first call, Ghana takes part in 20: from ACUICONECTA on aquaculture innovation and IDIWATER on desalination and training in Keta, to AFRICANTECH on SME competitiveness and digital transformation, or BIO ECO-TUR and CIRCULAROCEAN on the circular economy and blue-green infrastructure.
The opening
It brought together the Director-General for Relations with Africa of the Government of the Canary Islands, the head of section at the Delegation of the European Union to Ghana, the head of the EU/Europe/Americas Unit at Ghana’s Ministry of Finance, and the Ambassador of Spain to Ghana.
