What data we collect and why

Voces de África podcast forms. Name, company, country, email address and any information you give us in order to put yourself forward as a guest or to discuss sponsorship. They are used for that purpose alone.
Browsing. Website usage data collected by means of analytics cookies, which we explain in our cookie policy. You may refuse them without this affecting your use of the site.
We do not ask for special categories of data, nor do we take automated decisions that affect you. The fields marked as mandatory are the minimum we need in order to assist you: if you do not provide them, we will not be able to do so.
Our lawful basis
Your consent, which you give by submitting the form or by accepting analytics cookies, and which you may withdraw whenever you wish. Where a professional relationship already exists, we process your data for the performance of the contract and in order to comply with our legal obligations, chiefly tax and accounting obligations.
How long we keep your data
Enquiries that do not lead to a professional relationship, one year from the last contact. Client data, for as long as the relationship lasts and thereafter for the limitation periods laid down by law, six years in commercial matters and four years in tax matters. Website analytics data, for the periods set out in the cookie policy.
Who else has access to your data
We neither sell nor disclose personal data. It is accessed only by the providers we need in order to operate, each of them under a signed data processing agreement:
- Arsys Internet, S.L.U. (Spain), which hosts this website and our email.
- FormSubmit, which handles the submission of the podcast forms and forwards the message to us by email.
- Google Ireland Ltd., for browsing statistics.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission or by standard contractual clauses. We will also disclose data to the public authorities where a legal provision requires us to do so.
Your rights as a data subject
You may ask us for access to your data, for its rectification or erasure, for the restriction of processing and for the portability of your data, and you may object to our processing it. You may also withdraw your consent at any time, without this affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out beforehand. Write to us at contacto@ibcspain.com stating which right you wish to exercise; we may ask you to prove your identity.
If you consider that we have not dealt with your request properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, among them the encryption of the site by means of a TLS certificate and restricted access to information. No system is infallible, but we deal with any incident with the diligence the legislation demands.
