These are the figures worth having to hand before considering entry.<\/p>\n<h2>The figures<\/h2>\n<p>Close to <strong>35.7 million inhabitants<\/strong>, GDP of USD 118.29 billion and forecast growth of 4.8% for 2026, after reaching 6% in 2025. The country has come out of the 2022-2023 debt crisis with a three-year USD 3 billion IMF programme: inflation is falling from 39% to a forecast 5.8% for 2026, and Fitch raised its rating from B- to B in May 2026.<\/p>\n<h2>What Spain sells there<\/h2>\n<p>Spanish exports to Ghana reached <strong>EUR 266.9 million in 2025<\/strong>. By category: fuels and mineral oils (EUR 37.7 million), ceramic products (30.4), beverages (25.8), essential oils and perfumery (20.7) and salt, gypsum and unworked stone (12.3). The first three account for 35.2% of the total.<\/p>\n<h2>And what the Canary Islands sell<\/h2>\n<p><strong>EUR 1.29 million<\/strong> exported in 2025, with a surplus of EUR 0.83 million in the Canary Islands&#8217; favour and <strong>thirty Canary Islands companies<\/strong> active in the Ghanaian market. There is a <strong>weekly<\/strong> shipping connection from Las Palmas to the ports of Tema and Takoradi, direct with MSC and with transhipment via CMA-CGM, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd. There are no direct flights between Spain and Ghana.<\/p>\n<h2>Where the opportunities are<\/h2>\n<p>Agri-industry, with cocoa at its core; mining, with gold; energy, between oil and renewables; infrastructure and construction; and port logistics in Tema and Takoradi.<\/p>\n<h2>How we go in<\/h2>\n<p>IBC Spain has worked in Ghana since the presentation session for the INTERREG MAC projects in Accra.
